Amlodipine Besilate is a calcium channel blocker used to manage high blood pressure and certain types of angina. It works by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle cells, resulting in relaxation of blood vessels. This leads to reduced peripheral resistance, lowered blood pressure, and improved blood flow to the heart muscle.
