Permethrin 5% w/w Cream is a topical antiparasitic medication used for the treatment of scabies. Permethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that works by disrupting the normal function of nerve cell membranes in parasites. It interferes with sodium ion channels, leading to paralysis and death of mites and their eggs. The cream is effective against Sarcoptes scabiei when applied to the skin as directed.
